How can I enrol for a Cambridge exam?
You can either enrol through the language school you are attending or register by sending us an email or calling into our Centre. the information required can be found on the Registration page of this website.
How do I pay for the exam?
You can pay by cash, credit/debit card, bank transfer or cheque made payable to The Exam Centre of Ireland Limited.
When do I have to pay for the examination?
You must send payment as soon as you receive a confirmation of acceptance from us. Each exam has a "final" closing date which is listed on our exam dates page. Your payment must reach us before this date. Your place is not guaranteed until payment is received by us.
Where do I have to send the form and the money?
You should send it to email@example.com If you have no access to email you can call in or post it to The Exam Centre of Ireland, Tom Darby House, 54 Parnell Square West, Dublin 1, Ireland.
Can I choose any venue for my exam?
No. We will inform you by email where your exam will take place.
When should I arrive at the examination venue?
You must always arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of each exam. If you arrive late you will not be allowed in and you will not be allowed take your exam.
Can I choose any day for my speaking test?
No. We will send you of the details of when and where your Speaking Test will take place. The speaking tests are usually held within a few days before the main exam date ( written exams).
What must I bring with me to the examination?
* Your statement of entry - this is your timetable
* Your passport or EU National ID card (no other type of ID is accepted).
* Bottle of Water
For the speaking exam you will only need your statement of entry and ID.
*** PLEASE NOTE - YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TAKE YOUR EXAM IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE CORRECT ID WITH YOU.
Can I use a dictionary or spell checker during the exam?
If I cannot take the exam, do I get my money back?
Only in cases of serious medical conditions accompanied by official documentation such as a doctor's certificate which states the reason you cannot take the exam, you will be refunded the fees.
If you want to cancel your exam prior to the final listed closing date, you can do so in writing and we'll refund you less the standard administration fee of 45 euro. No refund is applicable after the listed closing date.
Can I eat, drink or smoke during the exam?
No. There is usually a short break between components during which time you'll have an opportunity to have a snack or smoke.
When will I get my results?
You will be sent a statement of results approximately 5-6 weeks after the exam (2-3 weeks for computer based exams) and the certificate will be sent to you (or your school) 4 weeks after this.
